This artwork was created around the concept of colour harmony. I’m always fascinated by how our perception of colour shifts when it’s placed in a different context. Pointillism captures this idea beautifully by positioning diverse colour harmonies next to one another, allowing them to interact and draw out unique qualities that wouldn’t emerge in isolation. It creates an experience of colour that can’t be achieved in any other way.

The parallels between music and visual art are huge, but nowhere — at least in my view — are they more evident than in the construction of colour relationships and patterns through pointillism. I like to think of it as a symphony of colour, with areas of tension and release playing their visual melody across the canvas.
